Design Schools Educational Offer

The world of design is such an exciting arena. But before you get there, you need to go to school first. If you do not have a plan to go to a university, college, online program or distance learning due to financial reasons, then an associate degree from a community college or vocational school will do. You may also enrol leading to an associate degree in design in an online school or distance learning. Remember that there are lots of fields in the world of design that you can choose from. There’s fashion design, there’s interior design, there’s architecture, there’s floral design, there’s graphic design among others. Each of these fields is diverse. What matters though are one must have an interest in the program so he or she can pass it with flying colors.

University / College

Even the best university and college in the United States today offer a graduate program in design. You can enroll in such fields as diverse as landscape architecture, civil engineering, designing a movie or TV shooting set, costume designing in a theater or motion picture set, etc. There’s even a degree leading to a doctorate in design. Remember also that when studying in a university, there are many opportunities to amplify your skills – it could be they organise business courses or language courses (a sprachkurs for example): either way, your future design career will be greatly supported by your widened knowledge of the working world and help you stand out from the crowd! For instance, by following a language training in a spanish school spain: you will learn and enjoy yourself at the same time!

Community College / Vocational School

Design courses in a community college and vocational school only take up to four or six semesters to accomplish. This means that you can only have an associate’s degree in any design program of your choice. There are many advantages in enrolling in a community college or vocational school. First, there is minimal tuition because you can graduate from the program already after only two years of schooling. Second, a regular university or college will immediately accept you once you’ve graduated from a community college or vocational school. This is because a university or admissions staff can see that you already have the edge over a fresh high school graduate.

Online Program / Distance Learning

There is even better excitement waiting for a design student enrolled through an online program, in accredited high school online, for example. Tuition is minimal because there are no laboratory fees involved and the student doesn’t have to spend for transportation expenses going to school as well as boarding expenses for the dormitory throughout the four-year stay in a university or college.

Remember also you can get a good education by experience! Why not look into applying for design apprenticeships? Being a student, or by working abroad, you may even get some “pocket money” remuneration while working as a means to study, not to earn.

Remember if you are lucky enough to fiind yourself abroad, learn the language! Even by doing the simplest of activities – playing poker, going shopping, watching a film – you can learn a lot. It will also be a great boost to your CV or resume if you can say you have a second (or third!) language to you bow.
